PREFERENCE IS GIVEN TO SOUTHEASTERN NM CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS BUT DOES NOT EXCLUSIVELY LIMIT GRANT RECIPIENTS. JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: AN INDEPENDENT SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE SCREENS APPLICATIONS AND SELECTS UP TO 20 SEMI-FINALISTS TO INTERVIEW. OF THE 20 SEMI-FINALISTS, UP TO 15 ARE AWARDED ONE-TIME $5,000 SCHOLARSHIPS, 4 ARE AWARDED $20,000 SCHOLARSHIPS OVER 4 YEARS, AND 1 IS SELECTED TO RECEIVE THE JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WHICH PAYS FULL TUITION, REQUIRED FEES, TEXTBOOKS, AND ROOM & BOARD. TO SUPPORT THE FOUR MULTI-YEAR SCHOLARS AND THE JACK MADDOX DISTINGUISED SCHOLAR IN ACCEPTANCE TO THEIR SCHOOLS OF CHOICE, THEY ARE ALSO PROVIDED A COLLEGE COUNSELOR, COST REIMBURSEMENT FOR ATTENDING A REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIR, AND UP TO $250 FOR COLLEGE APPLICATION FEES.
