PROPOSALS MUST CONTAIN SUCH ADEQUATE DETAILED DESCRIPTION AS TO BE UNDERSTANDABLE BY THE LAY AND MEDICAL MEMBERS OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE FOUNDATION. THEY NEED NOT BE IN THE DETAIL REQUESTED BY THE N.I.H. TWO TO FOUR DOUBLE-SPACED TYPEWRITTEN PAGES MAY BE SUFFICIENT, ADDITIONAL MATERIAL CAN BE SUBMITTED AS AN ATTACHMENT, BUT THE TWO TO FOUR PAGE COVER LETTER SHOULD CONTAIN THE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION. REFERENCES SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED.
